This recipe was passed on to me by my sister. I found it a delicious mini meal option with loads of taste and freshness.
Matar Kulcha can also be relished with a cold drink or juice by your side.
Requirements
Safed Matar : 1 cup ( soaked overnight or over day when u were in office ;) )
Onion- 2 (medium)
Tomato- (medium)
Cucumber- 1 (small)( optional)
lemon - 1
Red pepper- 1 tsp
green chilli- 1 (optional)
Ginger- 1 inch piece
salt- to taste
Kulchas - As per your appetite
butter- to toast kulchas
Recipe
1. Pressure cook the white peas with some salt for 20 minutes (approximately). Drain off the excessive water so that the peas are soft (semi solid stage)
2. Chop onion, tomatoes and cucumber and add them to the peas.
3. Add finely chopped ginger & green chillies to matar.
4. Add lemon juice, salt and red pepper to the matar.
5. Toast the kulchas on tawa with a little butter on each side till slightly golden.
6. Your matar kulcha is ready to be relished.
